At Last.....

We have been hearing endless stories about parts of the UK that have had snow for the last few weeks... and very disappointingly, we have had no snow... up until yesterday that is when we woke up to this......
SNOW!!!!!!! The lovely cold white stuff..... Snow, snow, snow!!
We had a debate (well, a very brief chat) about whether or not we should attempt to get the girls to school and after no deliberation what-so-ever the decision was reached... a resounding 'NO'! After which, both the girls headed back under their duvets... very wise decision!! I, however, decided to take a walk down the lanes and across the fields.. treading where no man had trod before... well not through the snow anyway!

I love photos of snow on berries, but this was the only one I could find!!

Across the fields....
Over the bridge....
Back up the lane ... to home.....

I eventually managed to coax the girls out from under their duvets and we went for a walk along the lanes..... As we stepped outside a blizzard was unleashed, but this did not stop us!!.....

Isn't this a great photo... look, you can see the snowflakes falling....

Meet our snowman... we built him in the middle of a deserted lane.... I hope that he's not turned to ice and caused a big dent in someone's bumper!!! Ooooops!!
Rosie was disappointed that we didn't have any carrots or coal, but as i didn't think... silly me... before setting off for our walk, we had to make do with what we could find in the hedgerows... sticks!

I was hoping to show you more photo's of my trip to New Zealand..... ninety mile beach and dune boarding.... but I have done something to my back and am in a lot of pain... sitting at the computer for any length of time is very painful... so I will have to wait until it starts to feel better.. the floor is beckoning. It's very frustrating as there are so many things that I want to do and I was hoping to make some clothes with the fabric that I bought before Christmas, but I can't even lift my sewing machine into place, let alone sit at it and sew! Happily though, I have a wonderful daughter who has offered to cook tea for us tonight...

So... I'm off now to lie in the sun.... on the floor... to try and ease this pain. I hope that you are all keeping warm and snug... eating lots of comfort food and enjoying the snow.

Wonderful that you got snow - such a contrast to your NZ photos! Hope your back gets better soon, I can really symphasize with you - it is not fun at all.
