'P' is for Party..

Time flies, you have fun, make memories, reach milestones year by year and this year is no exception... my baby turned 13!!!! I don't know about you, but I LOVE being a mummy and really miss those small hands slipping into mine, the freedom of spirit, sense of adventure and wonder at the world, picking up tiny ones as they sleep because they just look so delightful, early bed times, no homework, being needed for comfort and snuggles ... having said that I had a rather large person.. 17 year old Harriet, climb in bed with me a few weeks back after a bad dream that meant she couldn't sleep.. so we snuggled in together :::: two on a single bed is rather a squeeze:: she slept as I balanced on the edge of the bed hoping I wouldn't fall out . In the morning I mentioned that I hadn't had a small person in bed with me for a long time, at which she piped up and said, "But I'm still small inside"! Awwww, I couldn't be grumpy about lack of sleep then could I? How lovely to be needed again!
Anyway, as usual, I digress from the reason for this post... Rosie Posy's 13th Birthday.....
Piles of presents....
with a pony theme....
See what I mean... This was a present from Nana and Humpty, and as you can see she was clearly delighted with it, especially as this next week is activities week at school and she will be horse riding all week... looks like those riding boots and whip I bought her will come in handy too....
No birthday's complete without a party and a cake, and this year was no exception, Rosie decided that she wanted a 'P' Party.... Guests had to wear pyjamas and the food and activities had to begin with P. So Saturday morning was spent decorating the cake... no prizes for guessing the theme....
..... no not a rabbit cake, and I know that carrots don't begin with 'p'.....
...... but a pony cake.... Do you think she looks pleased with it?

Not a bad effort from harriet and I
Then it was down to party princess preparations...
Prettifying....its just a little painful!!
Ahhh... not so bad really, it will be worth it...
See....
Palace preparations... Pink and purple balloons...
Preparations complete. Recognise the bunting???
Present opening
Another present???
Now it's time for party games... Roll a dice, throw a six, dress up and eat chocolate with a knife and fork, meanwhile the dice is still being rolled, so you have to be quick or you may not get to eat any chocolate!!!! Great fun for onlookers, photographers and partakers alike.....
One of the muppets???
Yay, got some ... don't care how I look... just give me the chocolate....
Pink, penguin pyjamas and a psychedelic wig... perfect....
Look... no eyes!!!!
Party games over it's time for food.... paper plates, plastic table cloth, plastic cups and cutlery, paper napkins, pepsi, penguins, peanuts...
....pizza....
and popcorn at the pictures....
Time for birthday cake... I was really pleased to discover these candles, because not only do they say 'Happy Birthday", but there are 13 of them... perfect
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dearest Rosie
Happy birthday to you
Pots of love from mummy xxxxx

p.s... don't forget the competition....

What a wonderful day you had. Love the Pony cake.
My baby is presenting me with a grandchild in August, so I will have another small hand to hold.
