Sunday afternoon stroll

I feel so privileged that only 10 minutes from my home I can step out into green leafy lanes and have the most wonderful afternoon strolling from the countryside to the beach and back again. So armed with my book and map off I went....

Beautiful Devon hedgerows bursting with colour.....

There are many many 'green lanes to discover in the South Hams :

Stunning views around every corner

 ... even a dingily dell....

Wildlife galore... aren't the colours stunning?

... round the next bend typical Devon thatched cottages... gorgeous .... and then ....

... the beach! Blackpool sands:

Well.. you can't go to the beach and not have an ice cream can you?

Scrumptious colors...

Back to the leafy lanes.. and blossom and bluebells..

More beautiful hedges

Stunning bluebell woods

Ahhhh... these two just came to say 'hello'

I know these are a nuisance, and I should know.. my garden has it's fair share.. but are they beautiful?

..... and to round it all off a game of cricket on the village green, so quintessentially English....

This was a truly inspirational walk. Firstly, how many walks include so many wonderful views of sea and countryside?
Secondly, it has inspired me to create a new collection of jewellery entitled 'Spring' ... so watch this space.

I hope you have all had a lovely bank holiday  xx

Hi, This walk was from Stoke Fleming to Blackpool sands and back.. It's a real mixture and very beautiful. If you live nearby I can let you have the details.
Hope you've had a great weekend

I do actually know the area, spent a happy childhood playing on the beach at Blackpool sands and then taking my children! My parents built a house at Dittisham in 1982 so spent many happy times in the area till it was sold in 2001. I the place I like is Slapton watching the damzel flies in the summer, then walking along the coast.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful walk with us. It has been cold, wet and dull here today and it has been great to share some sunshine and warmth.
